Add a hint of celebration with a pre-meal sip of McPherson’s Bubbly Personality Aussie Sparkling. Ideal aperitifs include Bill Calabria’s zesty Pinot Grigio, the crisp, ripe lemony charms of aromatic Semillon from the Angove family or Gold-medal Golden Prawn Fiano, which as its name might suggest, will also accompany fresh seafood excellently. There is a luscious Verdelho on offer, offering tropical fruit flavours that partner much Asian fare successfully, or a creamy dish of green-lipped mussels. A fresh South Australian Chardonnay rounds off this fine selection of all whites.
Reds-only or mixed dozens are also available, with a bottle of the Aussie Fizz included in all of them. Save $100 on this whites-only mix.
The Diners Whites Only Dozen with Aussie Fizz Case contents
Chardonnay lovers, here's a treat from the famous Black Pig. The team has sourced top notch Chardonnay fruit from sunny South Australian to create this cracking white. Chill it well, then sip on it all summer long. Crisp, bright and packed with stone fruit flavours, it's one you'll want to keep in your fridge for impromptu dinners out at your favourite BYO, or as a cheeky accompaniment to a takeaway. Or just to sip on its own – the light bright flavours make it very nice for relaxed sipping.
Founded in 1886 by Dr William Angove of Cornwall. He began making wine and brandy as a hobby (a product they're still famous for), but by the early 1900s had built a fully equipped cellar and planted extensive vineyards in the Adelaide foothills. Today, fifth-generation Victoria and Richard Angove run the business, while Sophie Angove oversees viticulture. They continue to pioneer modern styles of wine with a focus on sustainability. We have been working with the Angove family for many years, and our close, personal connection has developed into an exclusive wine range. One of our favourites is the Angove Bin 7890 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. Medium-bodied with bright aromas of passionfruit, guava, green apple, citrus and a cut grass edge. Clean and crisp on the finish. Enjoy it with an orzo salad or break out the finger sandwiches and share it around.
Langhorne Creek has very few cellar doors, so it doesn’t enjoy the notoriety of other big South Australian regions. However, it enjoys legendary status in the wine industry because its powerful, distinctive fruit has been the ‘secret weapon’ in many Jimmy Watson winning wines. Lake Alex is named after Langhorne Creek's Lake Alexandrina, whose cooling lake breeze helps maintain elegance and freshness in the wines.
The Italian families of the Riverina have been producing royally good wines for years and now the secret is out! In critic James Halliday’s words... Calabria Family Wines “consistently delivers exceptional value for money across the entire range”. Bill Calabria, the leading light behind the winery's success, received a Queen’s Birthday Honour for his services to charity and the wine industry as a whole. And his winery has won Trophies and Golds galore. Made in the light, crisp and zesty Italian style by Chief Winemaker Emma Norbiato, this dazzling Aussie Pinot Grigio makes a wonderful partner to Italian fare like pizza, pasta, grilled meats ... you get the picture!
Made with classy cool climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit from Victoria's Goulburn Valley and Strathbogie ranges, this delicious Sparkling from the McPherson family impresses with its elegance and flavour. A fresh and delicate nose with light fruits and yeasty tones, with hint of fresh berries and cream. A lovely, fresh wine with a lingering bead and a persistent length. It's a terrific apéritif, and of course, a wonderful celebratory drop. And it's a very bright and bubbly addition to any party. Enjoy!
Talk about worldly! This is the modern-day Aussie – a classic Italian white variety, grown in Australia, and made for enjoying with Chinese takeaway. Did someone say fruit salad? Yep – but this one’s for grownups. There’s ripe pineapple and juicy honeydew melon, soft pear and all your other fruit salad faves. Call up your local, because we reckon this wine was simply made for Chinese food! It would be stunning with some salt & pepper calamari, but the ripe fruits would also hold their own against some tangy sweet & sour pork, too.
The 2019 Trimboli “Salvatore” Trebbiano scooped a Gold medal at the Australian Italian Varietal Awards Wine Show. The wine then went on to receive the Trophy at the same show and then... Chief Judges Award for Most Exciting Wine of the Show! Sam, who has won hundreds and hundreds of Golds over the years (plus some MAJOR Trophies) has always handled this Italian white grape superbly. This is the vintage 3 years on, but we think it is just as delicious. Sam is on a winner here! White fruit, elegant charm and a lick of French oak.
