The Wine
Richard Hamilton is a prestige McLaren Vale producer with some of the oldest vineyards in the region. Its intense, complex wines are much sought-after. As Halliday says, “Richard Hamilton has outstanding estate vineyards, some of great age, all fully mature. An experienced and skilled winemaking team has allowed the full potential of those vineyards to be realised.” He gives this lovely wine an impressive 92pts: "Estate-grown on four vineyard blocks, 6-7 days on skins, then pressed, part to finish its fermentation in new French oak. No more than medium-bodied, the fruit-oak-tannin trifecta is in excellent balance. Top value at this price." (Halliday).
