Plum, leather and sweet oak aromas seduce you before the rich dark chocolate combined with a roasted coffee undertone leads the way to a long finish with firm tannins. Ned Goodwin sums it up well in the Halliday Wine Companion "If any grape variety is suited to this inland heat belt, it is surely the late ripener, petit verdot. Moreover, this Bordeaux palate-filler packs an artillery of structure and extract, a perfect balancing meld. Equipped with a belt of vanillin oak, this is strapped in for a long ride... 93pts".
