Dominio de Los Duques is made under the stewardship of Don Vicente García, who is something of a hero to his fellow winemakers in Valencia. When Catalan growers lobbied to restrict the term Cava to their own wines, they offered to make an exception for him. Instead of accepting, he took them on and fought for the rights of all the small growers in his region and won! Thanks to Vicente, Cava is produced in over 150 municipalities throughout Spain, including his home town of Requena (one of the best), 40 miles from Valencia. Matured for over 12 months, Dominio de Los Duques is a lovely pale gold colour with fine persistent bubbles and delicate floral aromas.
