The Wine
Cuvée made from botrytised grapes but vinified dry. 'Morillon Blanc' is the original name of Chardonnay. The older it is, the more the expression of the grapes roasted by botrytis will be present and the colour of the wine will be brighter. Ripe and expressive with notes of pear, peach and pineapple, additional buttery, toasted notes in the background. The palate is round, ample, with a ripe, dense mouthfeel and an acidity that balances and refreshes the whole. Clean, finely astringent, still with this very ripe fruit, but also toast, a touch of butter and a hint of vanilla. Serve it with mature cheeses or even an apple pie!
