John Quarisa, (Johnny Q) makes a whole range of favourites – today we’ve picked his Gold and Double Gold-winning The Great Bonza Shiraz Cab to represent them all. We’ve been mates with Bill Calabria and family well over 25 years and among others his Long Live the King Cabernet, with fruit from Langhoren Creek and Coonawarra, remains a firm favourite. Again we’ve worked with 5 Red Star-rated Angove well beyond that 10 year mark. It’s one of Australia's oldest family-owned wineries, and has access to some of the finest fruit in South Australia. The fruit for luscious Whirlpool Corner Shiraz comes from near Whirlpool Corner on the lovely Murray River. Kilikanoon has reached dizzying heights of international success, before then, estate founder Kevin Mitchell made Baroota Reserve Shiraz for us. Kevin’s moved on from Kilikanoon, but the winery still crafts Baroota just for us. It has always been a bestseller, and a frequent Gold-winner as is this 2020. Gold-medal, 92pts Vin’atus is a vibrant blend of Spanish grapes but unmistakeably Aussie – from the incredible RedHeads, now firmly established in the heart of the Barossa. But we’ve been there since the very beginning! David Joecky’s Dark Corner has been a (global) favourite for simply ages. A magnificent ‘black magic’ blend of Durif and Shiraz, which has won multiple Golds and a trophy along the way.
