Château de Bon Ami is a family-owned estate in Bordeaux’s Right Bank, with a reputation for crafting easy-drinking but richly rewarding reds. The Cuvée Hippolyte 2023 is a fine example, shaped by a vintage that produced exceptionally fruit-forward wines.
It's made from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, and offers a great deal to lovers of red Bordeaux –, including exceptional value.
In the glass, it shows a clear ruby hue. Aromas of blackcurrant, plum and a touch of red berry spice are framed by gentle oak notes. The palate is medium-bodied, with ripe fruit at the core, supple tannins and a streak of fresh acidity. The 2023 vintage gives this red balance and lift, making it approachable but with enough structure to age it nicely for a few years.
