For growers all over Beaujolais, the Pierres Bleues – or blue stones – are “the key to Beaujolais quality” (Wine Enthusiast). Why? Well, without getting too jargony, the Gamay grapes grown here make wines of greater complexity, with deeper shades of gorgeous red fruits and subtle spices. You’d normally only find them in the top Cru vineyards. But not with this inside tip. Sarah, our Buyer, is always on the hunt for bargains.
