Deep River McLaren Vale Shiraz 2023

A long-time favourite McLaren Vale Shiraz dense with gorgeous layers of ripe blackberry, dark cherry and juicy plum fruit, layered with the vanilla spice from gentle oak-ageing. Shiraz is the most widely planted grape in the McLaren Vale. Indeed, along with the Barossa, it produces some of Australia’s finest Shiraz. All deliciously ripe black fruits perfectly balanced by a seam of freshness, thanks to cooling coastal winds. We reserve our Deep River label for fabulous one-off parcels our buyer out there gets to hear about and snaps up when the offer is good. Often from vineyards growing on iron-rich soils near the Onkaparinga River, which has carved out spectacular deep gorges through the foothills – and given the wine its name.
