This top Cabernet exclusive comes from a fifth-generation winemaker whose ancestors planted some of the first vines in South Australia in 1837. Halliday calls Leconfield “a distinguished estate with a proud history, long renowned for its Cabernet”. Winemaker Paul Gordon is making good use of the estate's beautifully sited mature vines. Look for mint-edged aromas of blackcurrant, dark plum and wild herbs on a beautifully balanced palate. Huon Hooke has called a previous vintages “A statuesque cabernet of real cellaring potential.” And “A classy, elegant wine which will reward cellaring…” Jane Faulkner from the Halliday Wine Companion has called it "an excellent red".
