One person has done more than anyone else to give Portugal its reputation for fascinating wines and great value – José Neiva. Over the last decade José's cellar has won more awards than any other, with wines offering "ripe, accessible fruit, lush textures and good concentration, all at very affordable prices" (Jamie Goode).
You'll find Brigando packed with vibrant red berries and a sprinkle of spice (that's the Shiraz). But José also added local Tinta Roriz (silky strawberry flavours) and a dash of Touriga Nacional (famous for port, it gives you that extra depth of fruit). Serve on its own or with grilled red meats, casseroles, chorizo sausages or steak and kidney pie.
