Leconfield Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Since it's first release in 1977, the Leconfield Cabernet has been a classic Coonawarra go-to and the flagship of the brand. Every year, they aim to produce a Cabernet Sauvignon displaying both depth and elegance where oak complexes and enhances the fruit but is not allowed to dominate.

"The oak, classy and tighter grained here (18 months, all French; 43% new). The fruit, more restrained: currant, mulch, bitter chocolate and truffle. The structural bow, of greater tension. This is linear, precise and long. Very good. Again, the pH and tannin management, far better than in the past. This will reward mid-term cellaring. It is good to see that Coonawarra, or at least at this address, is finding swagger again... 93pts" (Halliday).
