A deliciously smooth and silky GSM from the great Richard Hamilton estate. Using premium fruit from the "outstanding estate vineyards" (Halliday) in McLaren Vale. Coltons regularly delights its many ardent fans. The first Richard Hamilton planted some of the earliest vines in South Australia in 1837. His great, great grandson, Dr Richard Hamilton, has continued the family wine tradition on his own estate vineyards since 1972.Fruit comes from the Hamilton family’s Farm Block, while the individual varieties, Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre were fermented separately and aged in seasoned oak to retain fruit dominance. Full red with youthful crimson hues. Subtle use of oak allows the fruit to shine through to reveal attractive hints of boiled fruit cake with cinnamon and cloves this wine will accompany the best pasta, paella, or rich gamey meals – or just enjoy it on its own.
