According to the dictionary... a syndicate is ‘a group united to promote a common interest’. In this instance it was a group of winemakers who got together to create a red of serious power and sheer drinkability. They wanted something big ... so they turned to the biggest regions they knew. First up, a parcel of intensely dark, mouthcoating Shiraz from prime vineyards in McLaren Vale – laden with black fruit, chocolate and spice. Next, rich, ripe, textured Barossa Shiraz oozing with lush raspberry and plum fruit was also drafted in. Then it was all brought together to mature in top quality American oak. Get out the big glasses for this one. It’s seriously rich and concentrated – and seriously big!
