We've known Sam for over 30 years, during which time he's made many bestselling reds and whites for us. Many have incredible medal winning records too. This rich, punchy triple-whammy blend of Malbec, Shiraz and Durif won Gold in its debut vintage.
Since 2018 he has returned to his own family winery and makes wines under his own name – absolutely with our support. The wines deliver every time with lovely fruity intensity, originality and value.
He has nurtured partnerships with long standing grower friends which always helps. Sam knows Malbec performs as well in Australia as it does in Argentina, but adds a sizeable portion of Shiraz and his favourite variety, Durif and ages this for four months in French oak barrels, for a smooth, moreish red packed with ripe fruit. Top choice with a hearty casserole.
