Jumbo Mystery Mixed Case

After enjoying a “distinguished career as a winemaker spanning over 20 years, working for some of Australia’s largest wineries” (Halliday), John Quarisa is making his own wines – his own way. The result? Mile upon mile of excellent wines! Fragrant cassis, ripe plum with hints of mint and subtle cedar oak aromas, followed by rich black fruit, sweet plum and fine grain tannins across the palate. A soft, generous, multiple Gold-winning Cabernet which John advises pairs perfectly with duck or rabbit. This wine has the flavour, structure and balance to be enjoyed now or offers added satisfaction from further cellaring.

Two Golds and a Trophy for this fifth vintage Duck. With Black Duck Durif, Sam Trimboli set out to make a barrel-aged black red to knock the spots off every other Durif in our range. Matured in American oak, the regular Gold-winning phenomenon, Black Duck Durif is full bodied and smooth with layers of spicy fruit. It's made by Sam Trimboli, whom many customers will know from his days at Warburn Estate, where he collected hundreds of awards for his legendary skills. During that time he developed an obsession for obscure Durif, a “stunning little powerhouse grape that develops astounding complexity”, as he describes it. Perfect with char-grilled steak or mature cheeses.

Black Duck Durif

As bright and refreshing as its label would imply, this is Garnacha Blanca from Navarra’s high mountain vineyards. Here the pure sunshine and clear nights deliver wines that sing with freshness. Lemon crisp with a lifted herbal and floral aroma.

Spain’s Navarra is full of surprises, producing styles from traditional and oaky to the most modern and fresh. Flor de San Martín is certainly in the latter camp. A brilliantly zippy, fabulously fresh white made only from grapes grown in high-altitude vineyards in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The little rain and dizzy heights found there result in wines full of intense crisp fruit and lifted herbal aromas (flavours that are unique to the region), like this 2021. It’s made by winemaker Gonzalo Zelayeta, who works his magic at the modern San Martín de Unx winery, founded back in 1914. Using select parcels of hand-harvested grapes, this is a truly refreshing white that's full of character. Enjoy well chilled with lighter dishes or seafood.

Gorgeous layers of dense black fruit with a rich helping of smoky spice. This is a beautiful wine that, as the label says, “tip toes and tapdances over your taste buds”.
