The Wine
Meet France's new trendy white Picpoul grape, described by critic Olly Smith as "brilliant value and zinging with lemony freshness". It thrives on the Mediterranean coast in the very south of France. Indeed, it has its very own appellation, Picpoul de Pinet AOC, stretching from Pézenas towards the fishing port of Sète. This mineral and lemon fresh 2017 comes from Dutch born Floris Lemstra's beautiful, 19th century Château Canet. He runs it with his wife Victoria and both are passionate about working with nature to make the very best wine from the finest grapes. Their dedication pays off in the superb quality and delicious character of this tasty white. Not surprisingly, given the vineyard's proximity to the Med, it's great with seafood.
